This COLD BOOT TEST (No hibernation) places a clean install of Ubuntu 12.10 up against clean install of Windows 8 Release Preview to see which boots faster. As it happens, they're pretty close! Both operating systems were booted 2 times before this test was filmed to give them time to adjust to the hardware. Had I filmed the first boot it would have taken a lot longer. Hope you enjoy this video, specs are below.
I DID NOT MODIFY ANY OF THE OPERATING SYSTEMS USED IN THIS VIDEO, THEY ARE BOTH CLEAN INSTALLATIONS. I INSTALLED THE OS, BOOTED THE SYSTEM 2 TIMES, THEN ON THE THIRD BOOT I RECORDED.
- So in other words, stop accusing me of 'turning off Windows 8 Fast Boot,' this is what the boot test that I performed resulted in. Why would I waste all the time installing the operating systems, recording them, editing them and recording voice just to make one of two operating systems that I like equally appear faster or slower? Honestly, this 'patriotic-tech-fanboy' attitude I get from some of my viewers is so very, very kindergarten play yard.

*(This is dual channel RAM, hence the reason I wrote it as '633MHz' in the video)
*(Normally my computer uses a 2TB Western Digital Drive, however I forgot that I changed the drive in my computer especially for the boot test. So the drive listed in the video is incorrect.)
