Here are my 5 top tips and tricks for beginners in Valheim. Once you've chopped some wood and picked up a few stones and made some rudimentary gear you'll soon need to find new ways to progress beyond the first few minutes in the Valheim.
This video teaches you:
1. How to get a pickaxe in Valheim, which is less straight forward than all other basic gear. In fact, you actually have to fight the first boss (Eikthyr). I'll show you how to get deer trophies, where to find the rune, and some other tips on how top fight it (spoiler free - no live footage of the boss itself!). You'll need it's antlers to make the pickaxe.
2. How to repair your items and gear in Valheim - for FREE at the time of recording this video!
3. How to build a functioning workbench and upgrade your gear. To do this I'll show you the chopping block and the tanning rack (two essential items) and how to get flint in Valheim
4. How to get wood and other resources very quickly. This secret tip involves using the builders hammer and mouse 3 to quickly destroy existing settlements and structures (yours, or naturally occurring).
5. How to remove the HUD (heads up display) in Valheim so you can play in hardcore mode or take sweet cinematic screenshots without your health bar and what not getting in the way.
