I was curious about the performance impact Nvidia ShadowPlay would have when recording Valley Benchmark. In this test my desktop was running at 4K (3840x2160) 120Hz and ShadowPlay set to record at 4K/60FPS with a quality of 120 Mbps.

For reference, without recording / recording* Valley scores were;

FPS: 64.4 59.4* -7.76%
Score: 2694 2485* -7.76%
Min FPS: 32.9 32.2* -2.13%
Max FPS: 113.1 104.5* -7.60%

Full Hardware Specifications

MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 AERO 8GB OC
Biostar Hi-Fi Z97Z7 Motherboard
Windows 10 x64 Home Edition 20H2
4TB Toshiba X300 HDD
Sony Bravia KD55XH9005 Monitor / TV

In conclusion, the Valley Benchmark Score was down by 7.76% whilst recording. Or pehaps more interestingly, I did use MSI Afterburner to set the GPU fan speed to 100% and increased the temperature limit to 92c to avoid the GPU throttling. If you can read the temps in the video, maximum reached is 83c which is the default throttle limit. So in conclusion it seems like the stock cooling just about coped. Good thing its not a hot summers day :D
