Valley of Fire
Trip notes: The State Park is located about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada (1.5 hrs drive). There is a $10 entrance fee prior entry to the park. The park have some of the oldest Petroglyphs in the US and filled with Aztec red rock formations. These rock formations look like they are on fire on a sunny day, giving the park its name, the Valley of Fire. I was very fortunate enough to have the park for myself during my visit. I initially thought that the park isn’t too popular yet but it did get crowded towards the afternoon. Note, one hiking trail was not properly marked and you can get lost if not too careful. Though the trail was only 1.5 mile long, I stilI advise to bring plenty of water and such.
