The digital trading card game was launched in 2018, but Valve acknowledged in May 2019 that there were "deep-rooted" issues with the game, and that they would be "heads-down focusing on addressing these larger issues”. Then in May 2020 ‘Artifact 2.0’ went into beta. However, Valve has announced that they will no longer be developing the game.
