VB2FS PS2 12/17/12: Story Mode Act 1 Part 1: This Game is Hard
Next: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ7S0xgtyyw
This is the surprise playthrough I was talking about. Victorious Boxers 2: Fighting Spirit for the PS2, which is based off the manga and series Hajime no Ippo (or Fighting Spirit). This game was given to me as an early christmas present from my friend, Pyon. So shoutouts to him for being awesome. ^^ b
About the heavy editing, I've cut almost an hour footage into just the matches. There's alot of dialogue in this game; however, the plot does follow the manga/anime series.
NOTE: From now on, whenever I record this game, the in-between dialogue and storyline scenes will be edited out. However, I will link most of the unedited footages in this description box.
The unedited footages of this playthrough is linked below in order:
1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOPbx-63Oyk (Intro; Ippo vs. Miyata sparring)
2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiDfuBraY3w

4) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDEnMNH76A4 (Ippo vs. Oda attempts; unnecessary ranting inbetween the attempts)
My first impressions of the game:
I'm surprised that this game does not have a tutorial mode, or at least a tutorial stage before throwing me in a sparring match vs. Miyata. So I recommend searching up a guide if there is one, or read the manual that comes with the game first. Although there is no stamina bar or timer on the screen (besides the time on the background on certain stages), it does in a way simulate what would happen in a boxing match.
The hit confirms in this game is confusing at first. Its mainly paying attention on how your character and your opponent reacts when being hit and where the hit is landed.
This game is (in a way) dense, and does leave you out on the open. Just like any fighting game, you'll first need to get the movement of this game and how the bob and weave mechanics works. I still have yet to find a way on how to confirm hits without getting hit back as much during the trades, but I just need to practice and play more.
As for the updates, more Tales of Graces and Victorious Boxers 2 throughout the month. I will be taking a long break from recording Lost Saga. However, I'll still be playing Lost Saga casually from time to time.
