VCR Comparison - Philips DVP3150V VS RCA VR637HF (Read Description)
YouTube compression doesn't quite do the compression justice despite being VP9. Originally 2560x1080, though is 2560x960.
Footage captured: Opening of the Canadian VHS for Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer. I just wanna note right off the bat that the bit at 2:56 was just a minor hiccup on the RCA VR637HF VCR and going back to replay that bit plays normally much like the Philips DVP3150V, did also try to sync this up as intended (Don't know why it goes out of sync tbh). I do also plan to improve this by replacing the the AV2HDMI converter with something like a Dazzle DVC100 or a Retrotink 5x or 4k (Probably gonna go with the former since that's what most people use, also because of the price those 2 are sold at). Honestly would go for something like an S-VHS or D-VHS player given they have S-Video output and the latter D-VHS Players have Time Base Converters which can definitely help here or there, but the price on these players is ridiculous. I also know about Panasonic DMR-ES15s which can be used as a TBC passthrough, though I don't have one. Not entirely sure if I ever plan on getting one tbh. I also doubt I'm gonna looking into VHS-Decode since the RCA VR637HF doesn't have any holes in the back, and I doubt I wanna drill in a hole there.
