Vectorman - Sega Screen & Title Screen + Day 1: Terraport
20As video game consoles age, game developers pull out more graphical potiential that they have yet to unleash.
I'm gonna be making videos for Vectorman (1995) alongside The Revenge of Shinobi (1989). If you want, go through both games and compare their graphics.
Ironically, Vectorman, itself, doesn't actually use vector graphics. They're mainly faux-3D graphics, the same kind you'd see on the SNES' Donkey Kong Country trilogy.
For the Genesis, this is impressive. Note that Vector Graphics and Raster Graphics are opposites to each other.
The "SEGA" screen of this game has to be one of the best. You can actually move Vectorman around, and on the upper-right, there's a TV containing a Smart Bomb you can break open and use. Use the Smart Bomb and watch as the whole SEGA screen loses all its power. Awesome.
There's even a minigame you can discover on this screen that lets you skip a few levels if you do well enough.
The story of this game is explained in the three slides before the first stage, or "day" as it's called here.
Day 1 has Vectorman go through a Terraport. He can shoot in 8 directions, double-jump, and find powerups that can either give him different forms of shots or transform him into different forms.
The boss is a harrier jet, wielding a ball 'n chain on both of its wings. To damage and destroy it, shoot at its bottom when it's opened to rain bombs on you.
