Number 1: Tunip

Tunip is the leader of the Vegimals and the head cook for the Octonauts. He is the smallest main character in the crew but being half tuna, it is a little ironic since tunas are large fishes that can grow up to 6.5 feet and can weigh up to 550 pounds. However, their size doesn’t hinder their speed, reaching 44 to 62 miles per hour. Well, to justify Tunips’ small frame, turnips can grow up to 2 to 8 inches and can weigh up to 1 kilogram. He might be small but his heart to help shouldn’t be underestimated.

Number 2: Barrot

Barrot is always at your service. One notable ability of Barrot is his speed. Since he is half bass, this fish can swim at 2 ½ times their body length per second. Basses have bursts of powers that causes them to accelerate really fast reaching 21 mph. To match Barrot’s carrot half, carrots are known to have natural sweet sugar and considered to be one of the sugary vegetables in the world. That might explain Barrot’s sweet personality.

Number 3: Tominnow

Despite being small, Tominnow bursts with happy energy. Since she is Minnow, this fish can swim up 50 km with a water velocity of 60 cm/s. A fish that bursts energy even with a small frame. Though being one of the smallest, Tominnow might still grow since tomatoes can increase in weight, especially when they ripen, even after harvesting.

Number 4: Grouber

Having a large appetite definitely speaks for Grouber’s fish half which is called Grouper. Groupers are known to have enormous appetite, they even eat fisherman's harvest. Due to this, they can grow up to 8 feet tall and can weigh up to 800 pounds! That explains why Grouber is one of the biggest in the crew. Tubers are known to grow at the base of the roots to store energy to support the stem growth of the plants. Since Grouber is half tuber, his stored energy can be used to do a lot of tasks for the crew.

Number 5: Codish

Being clumsy is one of the things Codish stood out. Since he is a Cod, cods are known to be slow swimmers that they live in large groups called school. Codish has to be looked out for. Though being half radish, Codish is also one of the smallest in the crew. Making it ironic since radish can only grow up to 6 feet in height and 3 feet in width.

Number 6: Halibeet

Whenever someone needs help, Halibeet is ready to assist. He is one of the biggest in the crew, justifying his half Halibut self since Halibuts can reach a height of 8.6 foot and weigh up to 515 pounds. Carrots are not only considered as sugary vegetables, but beets as well. Beets are consumed as sugar, justifying Halibeet’s sweet personality.

Number 7: Pikato

Being half pike and half tomato, pikes’ color is often olive green while green tomatoes can be consumed and are a source of multiple vitamins. Thus, these explain Pikato’s green dominant color. Though he is not always seen much, Pikato can be relied on when help is needed...
