37The Planets suite was one of the most inspiring things I ever encountered in my life. Hearing Gustav Holst's work, finished what Nobuo Uematsu started and sealed the deal: I was definitely meant to be a composer above all else, for there is no greater pleasure for me in this world than writing music. I was certainly enchanted with every one compositions that I could get my hands on, but The Planets hold a very sacred place in my heart. I shall never, ever forget the sheer ecstasy of hearing them for the first time. After that, for months, all I could dream about was space and music.
I did this cover on a whim, when I realized that I had only been writing orchestral, electronic and Celtic covers of video game music, even though classical music has influenced me just as much as video game soundtracks. This is the first of many classical music covers to come! I tried to put my own style into this one.
The pieces of of art in this video are primarily by various classical European and Asian artists. There are two which I was unable to locate a source for. I depicted many different iterations of Venus- other goddesses of love and beauty who are similar.
