In this video, Venus The Flytrap, released in 1990 for the Atari ST by Gramlin Graphics.
Now this is a curious one, basically a side scrolling platform game, where you command a mechanical bug created to kill the bad bugs that were genetically created in an attempt to save the planet from a bad end. Yes if you're confused it's normal. If they are an attempt to save the planet, why we must kill them? Because they have an error in their program code that make them a greater threat that the one they were supposed to stop. And while you kill them, take extra life or energy hearts to ensure success in your mission, but beware of pads that can make you losing time or worst inverting the gravity
Graphically this game is awesome with a fantastic choice of colors; the scrolling is smooth, the animations great and there are many little things that makes the eyes happy. The sound is composed of a series of well made sound effects; there's a good main title music also. The playability is surprisingly high; the game was made to make you feel in total control of the main sprite so you can execute your actions with a good degree of success. Maybe the the rhythm is slow and sometimes boring but overall the game is great.
Here you'll find full intro and gameplay of some levels.

All footage taken from original hardware machines and upscaled to 1080P.
