Since I haven't found online a comprehensive and exhaustive guide with all the optimal configurations to run the PC version of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, here is mine.

Thanks to Verok (https://verokster.blogspot.com/), an Russian Romhacker, we can now play the PC version of this classic of video gaming without issues at all in its best version. You are probably aware of the issues that plagued the original PC release of the game, making it inferior to the PS1 version launched at the time, but fear not: all those problems are just memories of the past.

In my opinion this is the best way to play this game on nowadays PC configurations. The game is not available on digital stores due to licensing issues but you can legally download the game on PS Store. If you are lucky to have an original physical copy of the PC version of the game, though, you are in for a surprise: it's finally fixed and way better than its console counterpart.

Get yourself a copy of the game on eBay and follow the tutorial here http://gestyy.com/eqs2ds . Keep in mind that the releases found on Abandonware websites don't work with this patch and the CD-ROM version is necessary to make it work properly.

This patch fixes all the issues of the original release, makes it compatible with Windows 10 and gives you some quality of life options. These includes:

- Smoother movies
- The original fixed cameras (although I wouldn't recommend it)
- Joypad supports (XInput, Direct Input, Raw Input) and vibration feedback
- Subtitles for both movies and in-game cutscenes in English, Russian, Italian, Hungarian and Brazilian Portoguese
- Voices in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish and different Russian dubs
- Interface can be switched from English to Russian, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portoguese
- Option to skip all the movies
- All loading times are gone
- Better FMVs quality
- Better quality audio extrapolated from the PS1 version (thanks to NobelGas http://gestyy.com/eqs2YK)
