A daring World War Two mission which has become part of military folklore is being commemorated by a group of wounded servicemen.

Amputees and sufferers of PTSD will paddle seventy miles in canoes, retracing the route of the Cockleshell Heroes for the charity Pilgrim Bandits.

Their challenge was officially launched at the House of Commons this afternoon, Julie Knox was there.
