Jin Furai and myself will be starting a new series of videos covering the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet VGC Doubles Metagame. Cores, Teams, Threats, and Counters. We want to provide information for all those out there trying to make it in the competitive scene, or just trying to get started and need some information as to what to look out for on their ladder climb.

Today we're looking at The Sand Core with Tyranitar and Lycanroc. an offensive powerhouse that demands respect. This duo is seeing rising popularity in the doubles format thanks to their adaptability, and revenge killing capabilities.

They are definitely much easier to stop than dondozo + tatsugiri since you don't need a dedicated counter for them, just some smart playing will suffice.
