Due to the much more powerful arcade board then Sega Lindbergh, the game was developed using the Dragon Engine (the current in-house engine used by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and used near-exclusively for the Yakuza franchise )and a completely revamped UI.
The game is essentially VF5FS ad use the same button scheme as always, so primarily a Joystick and three Buttons, Guard, Punch and Kick.
You will use all eight directions of the joystick, and neutral. Graphically, a joystick tap in a particular direction is indicated with a white or un-filled arrow. Textually, use the numbers on a 10-key number pad to indicate direction taps.In addition to tapping a direction, you may also be required to hold a direction.
The game has 19 characters + Dural as a final boss(not playble in this version),and 20 stages to play.
Every character has a reason to fight, since i played Kage Maru i'll tell you his story:

Kage Maru entered the 4th World Fighting Tournament to save his mother Tsuki-Kage, who had been abducted by J6 and assimilated into the Dural Project. He battled his way to the final match of the tournament to face Shun Di, only to have the match disrupted by the sudden intrusion of Dural.
Unable to reach through to his mother, Kage Maru decided to put an end to her suffering and single-handedly destroyed the cyborg. Unable to find a trace of Tsuki-Kage upon close inspection of the body, he surmised that the Dural he destroyed was not his mother, but only a generic production model.
Following an independent investigation, Kage Maru had reason to believe that Tsuki-Kage was still being held captive by the shadowy organization. After receiving an invitation he decided to enter the 5th World Fighting Tournament not only to put an end to J6’s ambitions for good, but to attempt to save his mother again.

Tha arcade cabinet support only 1 player locally but it has modes for online matches and lan tournaments up to 16 players.
It's also use the Aime card save system, to store characters customizations unlocked, player ranks per character, victory records etc.

It also use the classic VF.Net to store online all your progress and stats.
Each character's Costumes D, E, and S from the previous versions of the game are missing.
