As I was chatting with another member of YouTube, I noticed he had a few videos for this game and it's crazy too because this game was just on the back of my mind! I was looking up information on unreleased 32X games last week because I was bored and stumbled onto some articles about "Virtua Hamster", a game designed and produced by Eric Quakenbush during the midlife crisis of the 32X (in other words, its whole existence). Sadly, the game was never finished, but I read that someone had acquired a prototype for the game and was going to dump it on the net.

Well, it was apparently dumped a few days ago, so I figured I should put up a video too to spread the word around. That, and should the game just fall off the face of the Earth, I can say I at least have some footage for the game. As-is, this game is just weird and not only looks and feels like an experiment, but it gives me the impression that it wasn't just canceled due to the 32X's popularity. This game honestly just doesn't look like a good idea, though I could be wrong.

The game is some sort of racing title where Hamsters glide through tubes and are supposed to grab items and reach an exit gate by taking a series of really confusing twists and turns that are covered on a somewhat misleading map. In this build of the game, none of the options seem to do anything and you can't seem to use any itmes. I even set the game to two players and it shows the two getting ready to race, but then nothing happens. The "Mechanical Snake" also doesn't do anything. You just drift endlessly through the maze.

Had this game been completed, I think it certainly would have been quite the novelty item (the visuals as is are actually very good and would look better if fleshed out), but I highly doubt it would've helped save the 32X. The dump however is still very important and helps to preserve gaming history, so I'd like to thank everyone who made this happen (with anonymity, for protection). I can't post a link to where I got the game, but you can find it with a little Google search. Enjoy.
