Virtua Racing Deluxe (32X) - Sand Park
29The Sega 32X version of Virtua Racing Deluxe being played using Kega Fusion emulator. This is one of the two additional exclusive 32X tracks that aren't in any other version of the game.
This was footage I'd originally recorded to use in another video as part of a split-screen comparison, but I thought it was a decent enough effort to warrant an upload on it's own. I like this version of Virtua Racing a lot, but Sweet Jesus, is it difficult when you play with the Forumla 1 car, waaaaay harder than the PS2 version of Virtua Racing. The rubber banding in this is most egregious, you make the tiniest error, you're suddenly overtaken by all the middle ranking cars. I couldn't even catch sight of the first place car.
Still, I like the design of this stage and the Sand Park one. It's a real shame M2 didn't port these tracks and the extra cars into the recent Switch version of Virtua Racing. It would've been great to see them replicated in an approximation of the original Sega Model 1 board's graphics.
