Virtual Pinball Game Sample - Genesis/MD
Virtual Pinball is one of the best pinball games for the Genesis / Mega Drive and one of the most interesting pinball games ever made simply because it is one of the few Pinball Creation Sims out there (especially on a home console), allowing you to make your own machines or play a variety of the game's presets. It is not without its flaws and I'd take some of the more reknowned Pinball games like the Naxat and Kaze titles over it inspite of the lack of dream-like applications like "making my own machine with fifty flippers on it", but it is certainly a fun game for people of all ages and pinball enthusiasts to play around with as it features a variety of things you can tweak and can last for a while, even allowing you to save up to ten of your creations.
The game's "Super Flippin' Features" include:
- Create your own games from the layout to the ball speed
- 6 cool game themes and ten super backgrounds
- 38 different game parts to choose from
- Save up to 10 personal games
- 29 (?) awesome pre-made games including 6 games by a top arcade pinball designer
- Super multi-level play and special bonus rounds
You can also choose the music and sounds you want as well. The graphics aren't the greatest, but the game has respectable visuals with smooth effects. The ball physics are mostly good, but sometimes the ball gets stuck in an unrealistic way and can't even be fixed by shaking the machine, though the game plays well otherwise. The music... I don't like it that much. There are seven tunes, but there's not much variety and there's only two tunes that I actually like. Of course, the mileage varies. This is a video of the game in action on one of the game's presets. You'll also notice that my score gets broken because I did an almost impossible stunt, but you'll have to pay attention to catch what that is, lol. Enjoy.
