Now with pseudo- input display! I have OFFICIALLY switched over to D-Pad controls, which should mean that you get to see which directions I am holding at any given time. The true reason I did this was to make exactly three rooms easier:
1. Stop and Reflect
I could not consistently get the skip in this room with swipe controls; the D-Pad made the precise timing of the flip much easier to pull off.
2. Don’t Be Afraid
It’s so much easier to move just a tiny amount by tapping than by swiping, this was just an added bonus when paired with the other two.
3. Not As I Do
This is almost impossible with swipe controls, and even with the D-Pad is very low percentage. I’m lucky I got it first try here; the only reason I tried it was that I was barely ahead of pace going into the Intermission and had already taken a very bad death.

How does this compare to my old PB?

-In Space Station 1, I saved a few seconds due to the Stop and Reflect shortcut (Total about -3)
-In Space Station 2, I saved another few seconds because of better execution and slightly faster strats (Split about -7, Total about -10)
-In The Tower, I lost a few seconds due to a few bad deaths I took, but minimized my losses by taking a few near-optimal checkpoint deaths (Split about +2, Total about -8)
-In Intermission 1, I lost a lot of time to the death at the beginning but made most of it back up with very risky strats (Split about +5, Total about -3)
-In The Laboratory, I lost time early on with the first death, but made most of it up by blitzing through the rest of the dungeon (Split about +1, Total about -2)
-In Intermission 2, I had the fewest deaths I have ever had at 1. This was perhaps the split I am most proud of, and it was a new gold (Split about -11, Total about -13)
-In The Warp Zone, I was feeling really good. I could have done better but my old PB was really bad there, losing almost 25 seconds (Split about -18, Total about -31)
-The Final Level was choke city. I lost so much time in stupid ways that I should be ashamed of myself. If I had flipped even a frame later at the end, I am fully convinced that I would not have had a sub-17. When I split the final time, my timer read 17:00.05, and I was wondering if I had even PB’d (Split about +30, Total about -1.1, PB)

Luckily, I now have about even possible time to save in every split except Intermission 2 (which theoretically I could save time in if I got deathless) and The Final Level (which was horrible and has 30+ seconds to save). I could easily get a mid-to-low-16 within the coming weeks.

So foul and fair a run I have not seen

Please let me know what you want to see more videos about! I’m almost exclusively doing VVVVVV stuff right now but if you want to see a change from that, I have at least 3 other games that I run or can run. Additionally I can probably figure out how to make a tips/tricks video for this game.
