VVVVVV is a really cool modern game in the retro style. It's a sort of puzzle platformer with a simple yet brilliant gravity reversing mechanic. The soundtrack is brilliant and also has a great retro feel to it. I usually don't like platform games this difficult, but the frequent check points keep it from becoming too difficult even for me. If you like platformers, I highly recommend this one.
