3Waddle Home is Developed by Archiact Interactive for the PlayStation VR & HTC Vive. Waddle Home is an interactive puzzle game designed exclusively for virtual reality. The “Lemmings”-style gameplay involves guiding charming penguins towards their spaceship by toggling blocks, tapping toggle areas, and rotating their frozen world. Players act as a benevolent alien, rescuing the loveable penguins who’ve been captured by clumsy robotic guards. The game takes full advantage of virtual reality immersion, allowing players to escape to an enchanting frozen world, taking in a beautiful chilly arctic morning, a glowing sunset and a moonlit night surrounded by the northern lights.
Puzzles increase in difficulty over the course of 40 levels as robot guards, capture pads, and switch operated doors are introduced. Players can solve each puzzle by rescuing all of the penguins, but clever players will enjoy the challenge of replaying the levels to collect the three bonus eggs. The penguins can be quickly scooted through danger when players “bop” them on the head, increasing the speed of their waddle, which is helpful when dealing with patrolling robots. If the player isn’t careful, robots and capture pads can grab the penguins and send them back to the cage, where players will need to try again! Between all of the puzzle solving, players can splash around in the water, and dive underwater to freeze their headset (it thaws out, we promise).
