In this video I test-flew a J-11B fighter. I tested various weapons such as rockets, bombs, air-to-air missiles, radars, tested maneuverability, and performed a landing. In War Thunder, the J-11B is the best fighter in the Chinese aviation tree.
The J-11B can use the K/ADC03A targeting pod, which allows it to use GB250/GB500 guided bombs and Kh-29TE missiles. It has a wide range of weapons, so it can be used as an air superiority aircraft as well as an attack aircraft. It is very versatile.
It can also carry ordinary bombs and rockets. The J-11B has a top speed of 2,498 kilometers per hour, or Mach 2.0. It is very agile for a fighter with an empty weight of 16,380 kilograms. It can complete a combat turn in 24.2 seconds. It is not as agile as the J-10, which can make a combat turn in 19.7 seconds. There are two types of fighters in the world's air forces.
I just got this airplane, so my load is limited. In this airplane, I will carry 6 PL12s and 4 PL8s. In the J-11A, my standard air combat load is 6 RVV-AE missiles and 4 R73 infrared missiles.
The first type of fighter is the light single-engine fighter, such as the J-10, F-16, or F-5.For the PLAAF, the J-10 and J-11 are companion models. For the USAF, the F-4 Phantom II complements the F-5. Complementing the F-16 is the F-15. During World War II, the Luftwaffe had the Bf-109 and the FW-190.
The J-11 can carry as much ammunition as the Su-27 or F-15. It can carry more fuel and therefore has a longer range. The J-11B has modern avionics and MFD (Multi-Function Display), which was not available in earlier J-11s. It has 3 screens for accessing radar, maps, radar warning system and other functions.
The J-11B uses the newer Chinese-made 1493 multimode Pulse Doppler radar, while the J-11A uses the older Russian N001 Pulse Doppler radar. The J-11B has a lighter airframe because it uses composite materials. It has many improvements, making it better than the original Su-27. It is somewhat similar to the J-7E, which is a derivative of the Soviet MiG-21. The J-7E has a different wing than its predecessor and is therefore more maneuverable. The MiG-21 can make a combat turn in 37 seconds, while the J-7E can make a combat turn in 24 seconds.
The J-11B is not the latest model in the J-11 series. The latest model is the J-11BG, which entered service in 2019.All major components and parts of the J-11 aircraft in its current form are sourced locally. We can say that it is a Chinese aircraft as the fuselage, engines and most of the components are made in China.
The J-11 is a licensed version of the Su-27, so China cannot export any of the J-11 variants to other countries. The J-10 can be exported, because it was an aircraft developed by AVIC(Aviation Industry Corporation of China).
