War Thunder - The Grind Problem
12,801Boy, this one ended up being a long one!
War Thunder has been my absolute favorite game for a very long time, and one I keep coming back to despite its issues. It is a game that provides such an enormity of content and caters to all different types of players that it truly has no competitor.
But War Thunder has a serious "grind problem". Not only is the grind expected of new players INSANELY long to reach top tier, far longer than that of World of Warships or World of Tanks, but the content that players are expected to grind THROUGH is so diverse from the top tier content they may be coming to the game for, that many will put the game down straight away, as they see the length of time or monetary expense it will take to reach the modern warfare gameplay they're truly interested in.
Considering that the length of the grind, and the subsequent giving up and opening up of the wallets that many players will find themselves doing, is Gaijin Entertainment's main form of revenue, many will be out of hope that this longstanding issue will ever be addressed, despite it getting worse and worse with each new rank, tech tree and vehicle that is added. But I have hope... and an idea that may curb the rampant, expansive grind.
