Warframe Gameplay: 20 Minute Survival (Protea)
Another 20 minute survival. In this one I take on the challenge with the artillery Warframe Protea.
Let me just tell you: She is one of my favorite frames in the game, hands down. She is one of the few frames that has an ability to spawn items from health orbs, universal ammo, and energy. Yes, she can spawn energy orbs, great for when you don't want to use any equipment. But just because you can do that dose mean you will have an immediate payoff.
First off, her passive gives additional bonus damage every four abilities casted. In short you cast 3 abilities first ( It doesn't what ones you use as long as you use them), then the next ability cast will have a 100% damage bonus or in Dispensary's case, additional chance for item drops. you can tell by looking at the bottom right of the screen where her ability bar is, to see if you have it ready.
Her first ability (Grenade Fan) is really good to use as a zoning ability since it deals continuous damage to enemies who get close. When you hold the ability, she throws out shield satellites that allies can pick up. This gives overshields for as long as it stays active.
Her second ability (Blaze Artillery) summons a turret (That little module just below her waist in the back) that deals massive scaling damage when it kills enemies. You can tell by the damage multiplier just on the back of the turret. The obvious downside is it doesn't last long at all, but you can increase the duration some. You should be using her passive on this every chance you get 100%.
Her third ability (Dispensary) summons a item forge that drops health orbs, universal ammo, and energy orbs. When you get this ability, you should be using this right out the gate since you can refund the cost of this and then some. Nothing too special about it except you can get additional drops when her passive is at max.
Her final ability (Temporal Anchor) is a sort of "get out of jail free" card. When this ability starts you have a time limit to do what ever you want from casting other abilities, killing enemies, etc. When time is up, any energy used or health lost will be refunded when you rewind back to the anchor (Where you first casted the ability). the only energy used would be when you started it, however when you get back to the anchor, you detonate dealing damage to any enemy in range.
Overall:
She is perfect for Defense missions and Survival which is why I did it. She works best with duration since all of her abilities are on a timer (Get it?...lol) and does better with range. You can sacrifice some range for power if need be while using Grenade Fan as she throws 4 at once. Dispensary should be used every chance it is down to keep a steady source of items at your disposal. Blaze Artillery should be used when at 100% all the time unless you use Temporal Anchor. Speaking of, Temporal Anchor should be the second ability you spend your passive on to get that extra kick of damage when rewinding.
