Warhammer 40k: Imperial Knight Custom in progress - Ronin
1,667This is my first attempt to a Ronin version of the Imperial Knight.
The idea is this is a knight that is Houseless and live on the run.
The pilot modified his Knight to be more defensive in strategic points while upgrading his mobility.
The left paldron was sacrifice to protect the reactor core located in the back of the Knight.
While freeing the left arm from any restriction in movement, the pilot salvaged destroy knights for parts and use them to his advantage. The free hand movement from the left side let the pilot use the Knight as a tool for salvaging more easily and making modification without the help of heavy machineries.
We can see that the head of the Knight was modify to remove the side cables on each side of it, and have been relocated on the chin section. The pilot slavaged faceplates of other knights that he weld together to make a longuer faceplate protecting those wires from direct impacts.
The right paldron was reduce in lenght to be a shorter and more durable double layer paldron. Protecting the shoulder carrying the main long range weapon. The pilot idea was to obtain a high defense from elevated attack or airstrike. As the ion shield can be quickly deploy for frontal attack (it follows the same logic for the reinforce protection for the reactor core).
A chainblade is attached in the back of the Knight as a spare part. The Ronin pilot is without a House or any long term allies and he needs to be ready for any potential outcome if he is in dire situation. If the gauntlet is destroy the knight will promply deploy the chainsword and replace the weapon on the field.
As a Ronin, the pilot helps where there is money or a good cause. A veteran of an unknown house, the Ronin carries purity seals on his left paldron support. Those seals were offer before each of the causes he believed just.
As a Ronin, he destroyed Imperium Knights, Chaos Knights and Knights of Mars, as shown by his different trophy he keeps all over the Knights carapace and body.
Future upgrade: The cockpit needs to be reinforce with a plate to prevent any direct hit to the cabin from high velocity ammunition. A sword made of a straight slab of metal will be added to the gauntlet. The heavy slab as for purpose to make immense blunt forces to any enemy knights as it will redender any joints nonfonctionnal, preventing movement and rotation.
