26 Initial engagement on the right-townlet (Soviet air-to-ground interdiction and US helicopter assault on the left-townlet in Objective Charlie
07 US forces move through and capture the right-townlet unopposed as US deploys mechanized mortar on the southern outskirts of the left-townlet in Objective Alpha
52 Soviet forces occupy Objective Alpha, as US forces dig in on the southern outskirts, deploying further mortar units in that area
48 US forces prepare a massed bombardment of mortar, artillery, and of MLRS units on Soviet gathering point in the northern outskirts of the right-townlet in Objective Charlie
12 Mass US mortar shelling commences on immediate northern perimeter of the left-townlet in Objective Alpha, to dislodge Soviet forces from the town periphery, while US forces continue to consolidate positions surrounding the periphery of the left-townlet
37 Mass rocket assault of main Soviet artillery positions just south of the warehousing area in Objective Delta, on the north of the map, where the main Soviet forces are accumulating
01 US Air cavalry transit to a clearing just south of Objective Delta, secluded by both sides with tree patches and forest. Their objective is to secure the area and the adjacent agri/oil facility
10 Air cavalry landings, coordinated with MLRS and other over-watch units to secure the clearing
08 Close-up chaser-camera view of A-10 air-to-ground interdiction
15 Ground level overview of initial elements of armored battalion in transit to rally point for refueling and deployment to Objective Delta
05 After sustained shelling and rocket bombardment, Soviet forces are mostly dislodged from Objective Charlie. Though with over 1/3 of the townlet destroyed

04 Infantry and armor elements funnel out of Objective Alpha to secure avenue of approach to final objective from the south
49 Accumulation around new rally area commences prior to assault
15 Assault on Soviet stragglers defending approach from the south of final objective
43 Assault on final objective commences
This was my first real try at a truly large scale combined-arms action, and it went off pretty well. Elements of my previous approaches, including a sustained air-cavalry assault element (company size), a well-sustained armor push ("thunder runs") are present here, and an added element of mass-mortar and artillery preparation, with air over-watch come together for a satisfying piece of simulation.
Lessons learned from previous assaults, such as to not deploy air cavalry too far off, and to ensure there is an avenue of escape, and a concrete reasons they are there (with adequate concealment i.e. no cities), are factored here. Also, the 'meta' concept (in the game) with organizing and establishing rally-points/forward-operating areas for accumulation, re-equipment, and refuel are present here as well. This later piece is critical to make armor relevant within the game, as without mass, it's challenging to use them as anything but heavy-fire support-units for infantry assaults.
Something I changed from previous tactics was to not always contest for urban areas. Early in the match Soviet forces assault Objective Alpha and secure it and it's townlet. Instead of wasting soldiers and units, on also deploying within the area, I choose a mass rocket and mortar assault, which churns a significant number of Soviet forces. This however, has devastating consequences for the town, and I suspect such actions would not be sustainable nor moral in real life.
