That's up to you to decide. Circle of the Moon is an interesting thing in the Universe of Castlevania. It exists as one of the best showings of the series and yet it falls a bit short. Is it canon? Does that matter?

It's a fun game that uses a mix of old and new to try and leave its own mark and it certainly did just that. As a launch title for the GBA and as a game that was made with a whole different dev team it still stand fairly tall as a proper Castlevania in hte eyes of its fans. Even myself... just gotta grind out a bit though.
