In 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening got a remake on the Gameboy Color, which, as the name of the console might imply, brought color to the previously monochromatic Gameboy original. But it made other changes as well - changes that I do not often see discussed, and which personally bothered me upon replaying the two versions of the game one after the other. Today, I want to discuss the problems with the Director's Cut, and answer a simple question: does it fail as a remake of the original title?
