We Found a Major Issue with Montech’s New Cooler – They’re Fixing It!
Approximately 9 months ago Montech launched its first AIO CPU cooler the HyperFlow ARGB.
It was available in 240mm and 360mm sizes, in black or white colour schemes and was very reasonably priced at around £85 for the 360mm version. Today we look at the new version. We found issues with the new mounting bracket for AMD. (all detailed in the video).
We reached out to Montech and explained what we'd found in terms of performance between the new Silent 360 and the original ARGB cooler. They then carried out some of their own testing and found similar results. Montech then set the following statement:
Regarding the review, I’d like to explore the possibility of testing an additional unit, the new sample with the corrected mount. Of course, this is not a request for James to discard any of the existing test results. In fact, we’d appreciate it if he could share the initial findings to maintain transparency — Kitguru discovered an issue, we acknowledge and recognized the input, followed by addressing it. Additionally, if possible, we’d love for James to mention the mount update and our commitment to replacing all first-batch mounts for affected users. - Henry lee, Montech
“After reviewing James’ feedback and conducting additional internal testing, we’ve identified that the poor AMD performance is largely due to the new mount.”
Montech went on to say:
“As a result, we’ve made the decision to hold all unshipped units and revert to the ARGB version’s original mount. For units that have already been shipped or are on store shelves, we will provide customers with the updated mount upon request—no questions asked—via rma@montechpc.com.”
