We Happy Few - Guillaume Provost Interview
Creative director and founder of Compulsion Games Guillaume Provost talked to us about We Happy Few - a new twist of the procedurally generated survival genre.
"It's a game that's set in a 1960's dystopian society where everyone is happy on this drug called Joy and you're the only lucid individual in the city," says Provost. "You wake up and you have to basically survive for a while and your objective is to escape the city, but the city is on an island."
We Happy Few sort of blends the social stealth of the Assassin's Creed with an almost zombie-like fervor of the drug-fueled inhabitants of the city.
"A lot of the gameplay comes around knowing what the rules of conformity in the actual city are," says Provost. "It's a little bit of an urban survival Don't Starve meets Bioshock experience."
We recently previewed the game and you can read up on our early impressions over here.
