This heavily story driven game is a mixture of different genres and has tags of farming sim, building and crafting, horror, first person shooter. You can choose what you do with your days, but you need to complete tasks to progress to the next chapter in the story. The demo was interesting enough to keep me engaged, although there can be quite a lot of grind to collect enough money to buy items, especially early on in the game. It wasn't a problem with a first playthrough because the game was interesting enough, but that may hinder replayability.
