Bozja seems to be one of more divisive pieces of content in FFXIV at the moment, but I wanted to take some time to explain why more Bozja content could actually be a great thing for the game!

Hey guys, Gareth from DadTV here with yet more of my opinionated thoughts on FFXIV. Today, I wanted to look at Bozja and all of the positives that it gives to FFXIV, and why we need more of that type of content in Endwalker and beyond.

I recently did a video covering my thoughts on the Shadowbringers relic grind, which is predominantly built around the Bozja content, so naturally I was going to mention it here.

In previous expansions, and indeed ARR, relic weapons were just that: relics. But take the original ARR relics as an example; they were built up as being these incredible, legendary weapons within the lore of the world.

But due to the way MMOs are, they are obviously very quickly outperformed by newer weapons added to the game.

If we kept doing relic quests within the main world of the game, without additional context from external story pieces, it would get to the point where the lore behind them becomes irrelevant. And since FFXIV is a story focused game, we don't really want that to happen, do we?

That's why I liked the story behind the Resistance weapons in Shadowbringers. And also why I liked that they were so focused around the Bozjan conflict. It kept them md their lore separate from the legendary weapons of Eorzea.

If we have more Bozja content, or at least something similar, then we can once again keep the lore of the precious relic weapons intact.

We learnt a lot about the history of Bozja, Dalamud, Project Meteor and Garlemald through the Bozjan conflict and the Solo duty that came with it.

As a lore lover, this was wonderful for me. But the fact that it was all kept separate from the MSQ meant that it didn't have to be shoe horned into the ongoing storyline.

Since we are now reaching Endwalker and the end of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, the MSQ needs to be laser focused on that. Especially since it is all supposed to wrap up in 6.0 specifically.

Because of that, there is little room for us to explore additional lore and places within the world of Hydaelyn. The Bozjan storyline gives us the perfect structure for side content that accomplishes just that!

We can see how Garlemald's forces are dealing with whatever Zenos has done, as well as the loss of Bozja and other territories, whilst also getting more details about them as a whole.

By now, I'm sure 90% of players know that Bozja is great for leveling! If you're at level 71 on a secondary class, it's one of the best ways to level to 80.

There's nothing to say that the next part wouldn't be the same for 81 to 90.

And since we ARE getting an increase to level 90, it would make sense to have that option still there for secondary classes.

On top of that, Bozja syncs you up to level 80 when you are in there. This gives you a great place to practice a job at max level without too much of a penalty. Sure, you'll lose mettle when you die, but because Bozja is made up of FATEs and Critical Engagments with up to 48 other people, you're not gonna feel like you're holding others back.

For example, I have huge healer anxiety and do not feel good enough to heal in a duty with anyone other than people I know. However, I'm more than happy to go into Bozja as a White Mge to practice the skills and learn how the class works.

Palace of the Dead is good for slowly learning skills up until level 60, but for learning things like the level 80 rotation of a class before you hit level 80 duties, Bozja is just perfect.

Having this for level 90 skills would be great and really help people when they get to the new end game.

The last thing I want to talk about is Ivalice.

There is a lot of love for Ivalice within both the FFXIV community and the FF fandom in general, but at the same time, there are those who would not want an Ivalice focused MMO.

Having the Bozja storyline and content gives us a way to have more of Ivalice, including the war and political stories that world is known for, without the need to leave Eorzea behind and have FFXIV become an Ivalice focused MMO. It gives us the best of both worlds!

But that's all just my opinion. What do you think about Bozja? Let me know in the comments below!
