Leading up to the release of Skyward Sword, it felt like everyone online was talking about the timeline. We spent so much time trying to figure out how everything was connected. The hype led to the release of the Hyrule Historia. Now, over a decade after it's release, I think the timeline is holding the series back, it's a fan concept that Nintendo only cared about to sell us a book (that i love) and we need to move on form it.
