I'm happy to announce that the Ironman Challenge is now an OFFICIAL Speedrunning category! I'm happy to see a challenge I came up with on a whim get taken so far, and I'm looking forward to all the runs people submit for this new category :)
I wanted to start filling out the leaderboard myself, so I went for the duo ironman world record with @nicofloflolive since I was confident we could put up a score in one sitting.
I was correct in assuming that we would be able to complete a run, I was wrong in my ability to follow the rules.
In order for an Ironman run to be compliant for the speedrunning leaderboard, there's a handful of rules you must follow in order for the team to verify your run. One of those rules is to use LiveSplit and ensure you have the right autosplitter settings and I only got half of that right. Which is unfortunate for this run, but luckily I fixed it and followed up this run with a more compliant run (submission for verification pending).
I'm not too worried about this run not being eligible for the leaderboard since I intend to run a bunch of Ironmans either way. My intention with this video is to let people know that this opportunity is out there and to hopefully see more people secure some spots on the leaderboards for themselves :)
