#WedNESday: Mighty Final Fight (Capcom)
5Based on the social media hashtag #WedNESday, I would sometimes do very short videos showcasing an NES game and host them on a mobile social media app. I decided to expand the reach of these videos a little and also post them to YouTube.
This is Mighty Final Fight, Capcom's attempt to bring the franchise to the NES, knowing the arcade game wouldn't work well ported straight to the system. The result is a game that feels quite different than its original, but fits right in on the NES. There was likely a little bit of inspiration taken from Kunio-Kun, as an experience/leveling system is implemented to make the character grow stronger over time, and the game's art is changed with a goofier overall tone. It's fun for what it is, but there is no two-player option and there isn't a ton of variety in the game.
