WedSNESday: Let's Play Final Fight 2
The NPCs return to Final Fight, and get ready to bust some heads in this anniversary edition of WedSNESday:
Metro city is safe, and our beefy hard-hitting Mayor is back in control, but Mike Haggar didn't count on the Mad Gears having sister organizations in Hong Kong, France, Holland, and presumedly many other countries. Guy's girlfriend has been kidnapped, as well as an old dude named Genryusai (which Matt can't pronounce), and it's up to one man: A long haired hot latino dude with a sword named Carlos, inexplicably, to save them.
Final Fight 2 is the SNES-exclusive sequel to the wildly popular CAPCOM beat 'em up Final Fight, breaker of backs and home to the most ripped Freddy Mercury analogue that ever existed. It was developed and published by CAPCOM in 1993 to lukewarm reviews, as it was a far cry from innovating on its established formula. It is an archetypical side-scrolling beat 'em up, with all of the hallmarks of the genre, only remarkable for having abandoned the arcade and being developed exclusively for the Super Nintendo.

WedSNESday is the Level 0 NPCs weekly series where we play one older game for one episode, just to relive the nostalgia and maybe make your hump day just a little bit more fun.
