Autonomous robots are transforming agriculture. As these technologies become increasingly cheaper and lighter and incorporate swarming technologies, they are now being deployed for a range of tasks including weeding, picking, crop scouting, pruning, thinning, harvesting, and more.

Agricultural robots can also help minimize or eliminate herbicide use, prevent soils from compaction and too much disruption, avoid canopy damage, reduce the use of valuable resources including water, and assist in managing high-value crops that require complex and demanding control-intensive operations, paving the way for a more regenerative agricultural approach. Robotic solutions have the potential to reduce the drudgery for farmworkers, improve timeliness operations, and compensate for labor shortages, which occur especially during peak harvesting periods.

Discover the latest precision farming and ICT-based technologies in this AI for Good webinar. Find out the possibilities opening up a more environmentally-friendly horticulture paradigm, allowing to grow healthier crops with higher yields, producing the freshest products in a more sustainable, local, and affordable way, while encouraging young generations to engage in new agricultural practices around the world.
