Today we talked about the Dunning Kruger effect, which is a psychological phenomenon in which people overestimate their knowledge or competency. 95% of professors think they are an above-average professor, for example - which might not even be a bad thing, honestly. People wanting to be competent is probably good for the field.
But it's a problem when dealing with keyboard warriors with Google PhDs who think they're experts on a subject because they Googled it this one time.
