Week 5 Day 1 - Invalid / Valid / Sound Arguments II

Today we reviewed invalid, valid but not sound, and valid and sound arguments.
The trick with them is to not just look at the conclusion and agree with it and call it valid or sound, but to actually trace the logic to see if the argument works.
Between valid and sound, the trick is to see if the premises are true are false. Today in class I gave some examples that you might not immediately know, but on actual quizzes and midterms I only use things that are common knowledge, like cats being mammals or Washington being the first president of the United States. Don't overthink these things - technically you could argue John Hanson was the first president of the United States, but I don't go for trick questions like that.
