Yeah I don't fully understand what's going on here myself. You don't see that crouching pose of Alucard's anywhere else in the game. Either they knew those semi-small spaces existed (though in the normal castle, one of those spaces just gets you hard-stuck instead for reasons), or there's some other program that itself dictates Alucard's posture, and not pre-rendered sprites.

Either way, it's a unique experience.
