Well, That's Just Metroid Prime! Part 5
0Welcome SimuSquad adventurers to another glorious adventure deep into Metroid Prime Remastered on Nintendo Switch! We just left the Phendrana Core which was a Metroid research/weaponization facility. It was a full battle from the bottom using a brand new visor, but now, we have much more to do as we go ever further into Tallon IV.
First up, we cross the broken bridge just outside of the save point. A bit of a morph ball maze stands between us and a new boss. The boss's name is Thardus and it is a giant stone golem. It has a fun gimmick to battle it, but it goes off without issue. Once Thardus is down, we get a brand new upgrade for the morph ball, then Spider Ball. It allows us to stick to magnetic rail, and climb up walls. Now we can explore even more of the map! Once we have it, we leave the arena and Phendrana as well. We enter a new area of the Magmoor Caverns, and find a new puzzle to solve. Once we finish that part, we have a brand new platforming area, and move ever closer to a new area. First up is a tall room that has what is essentially a puzzle tower. I have to blast down pillars in the room to make it short enough to climb. I fall a lot and run out of ammo, but eventually, we finish the room. After more exploration, we find a new area.
The new area we find is the Hall of Elders. It isn't an empty, of course, as it is haunted by Chozo ghosts. They try to destroy me, but I re-unalive them. The hall is a giant puzzle room. We have to use the statute in the middle of the room to roll ourselves into new areas. Once we finish out the first part of the puzzle, we come to the newest upgrade, the Ice Beam! Now we can freeze enemies and shatter them. Who doesn't love a new upgrade? We head back to the statue room, and fight more ghosts. Once we complete the second part, we get a health upgrade, and leave the area as the final button needs a new upgrade to activate. We do a bit more exploring before we end after going through an underwater area. We shall adventure more this weekend!
