When it came out in 1994, Forrest Gump was a cultural sensation, making millions at the box office and going on to clean up at the Oscars, even taking home the Best Picture prize.

While the film clearly wrapped up its story at the end, that didn't stop screenwriter Eric Roth from penning Forrest Gump 2, even though Tom Hanks didn’t seem all that interested.
