Love it so much, I've bought 5!
Above anything else, my timer MUST have a keypad. I cannot abide devices that force you to hold down keys and scroll through numbers to reach the one(s) you want. So, in the limited selection of small timers meeting that criterion, this one has been, far and away, the best. I bought one to keep next to my laptop to remind me of upcoming conference calls when I work from home; then I purchased another to keep at work for the same reason; and the third one I acquired is used at home for a variety of purposes. I put it on a ribbon and wear it around my neck when I want to remind myself to take the laundry out of the dryer (no wrinkles!) or to turn off the water in the yard (conservation during California drought times) or not to dawdle in the bathroom when I'm getting ready to go out for the evening; and, of course, for the customary remninders when cooking. All three units have worked flawlessly for the 3 years I've had them. They've taken their fair share of knocks and drops and other forms of mild abuse. So I just purchased two more: one to keep by my bed for short naps (why wrestle with an inaccurate alarm clock when you want to set a beeper quickly for exactly 49 minutes??) and I think I'll keep the other one in my tote bag or car for when I'm out and about, multi-tasking my tush off, and need a gentle reminder.
[By the way, this unit is a handy social tool if you are looking for a graceful exit from a phone conversation. There's something authoritative and nonjudgmental about a timer interrupting and urging you to attend to your next task. Be sure the other party doesn't hear you setting, it though!
The clip, magnet, and hole are (so far as I know) unique to the design in this unit and make it very versatile and handy to use in a variety of settings for a multitude of tasks. I always hold the timer in my hand when I set it and turn it off, so I have no complaints about its lack of stability when it is affixed to a refrigerator or other surface.
