What A Loser | Pokemon Gold & Silver Finale
Today we are playing Pokemon Gold and Silver. Both of us! At the same time! We are doing a simultaneous playthrough of both games, side by side. So, there's never a boring moment, and you can see our unique play styles at the same time! We achieve this by playing on the mGBA emulator, streaming the game to each other on Discord, and recording the screen using OBS.
Pokemon Gold and Silver were relased in the US in 2000 for the original Gameboy, but they were greatly enhanced by the Gameboy Color. They are the "generation 2" or "gen 2" of the Pokemon series. They are direct sequels to Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow (and Green in Japan). The player starts their journey in the Johto region, picking between three starters: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. They then set out to collect 8 badges, take on the elite 4, and then continue their journey in Kanto.
Later, an improved third version was released in 2001 called Pokemon Crystal, exclusively for the Gameboy Color. It made many improvements, including a playable female character for the first time! This would hold fans over until 2003 when Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were released.
