What does that SPONSOR Button MEAN? - Youtube Sponsorship Beta Program

Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know if you knew this, but Youtube... Is changing…I know, I couldn't believe it when I heard this too. But actually, this is a good change! And this is relevant to not just the creators, but also you, the viewer. I'm sure you've all heard by now about the monetization issues all over youtube making it much more difficult for creators to rely on ad revenue, well there's a new feature coming to youtube that could really go a long way towards creating more stability for creators on the platform, and this involves you.
My channel has just been accepted into the new Sponsorships Beta program, some of you might have noticed a scary new button on my channel. This is actually a really great new feature for creators that allows fans to directly support their favorite creators via monthly donations in return for exclusive sponsor rewards recognized on the Youtube platform itself.
Now you may be asking, isn't this just the same thing as Patreon? Well yes… and no. The basic concept is the same, but there are some important differences. The big one is that this is directly integrated with youtube, so it's much more visible and accessible to our viewers than an external link in the description, and it gives perks that are also visible within youtube such as a Sponsor badge visible in the comments section and on live streams which looks like this! It's the ScrapMan logo, but with just the S…for Scrap…I mean sponsor. You also get custom emojis that will be available on live streams (which I've never done before….but spoiler alert, I will soon). Plus access to sponsor only posts on the community tab of my channel. Here I will be posting thumbnail previews of upcoming content to give sneak peaks into what's coming. In addition to these youtube perks, sponsors also get a special role in my Discord server with access to exclusive chat and voice channels, and finally, your name credited at the end of all of my videos.
Now, If you don't care about supporting the people providing regular content at no cost to you that's….cool. You can just close this video and we won't like…judge or anything. But kidding aside, I understand not everyone is willing or able to give support to every creator that they watch, and that is perfectly ok because nothing will be changing with the content being released on the channel for you. You still get the same silly videos of me trying to be creative in weird games. Sponsoring the channel just gives you access to perks on top of all the normal stuff. If you want to support the channel but can't do it financially, don't worry. If you are one of those fans that watch my videos from start to finish, then that goes a really long way to helping my videos get out there on youtube! So thanks for all of your dedicated viewership!
Now if becoming a sponsor IS something you are interested in, here are some important things you might want to know.
Availability
This is a beta, and only available to a select group of channels so you won't see it on every channel, and there may be some bugs or changes with the feature on occasion. It's currently only visible on the latest Android versions and New youtube on desktop, so if you are on iOS, you won't be able to sign up yet. It's also only available in certain countries as well.
Cost
Right now sponsorships are a fixed rate of $5USD. I've made the rewards identical to my $5 Patreon supporters except for the youtube integrations that sponsors get.
What about Patreon?
It is up to you if you'd like to support via Patreon or sponsors, or both! Patreon has different donation amounts if you'd like to donate more or less. But if you want the Youtube badge, then sponsorships are where it's at.
Ultimately this feature has the ability to bring some sense of financial stability to a full-time YouTuber like me, especially in such an unpredictable advertiser environment. So if this is something you decide to opt into, I can't express how much I appreciate your support. I'm always pleasantly surprised whenever I see people making extra efforts to help the channel.
