What Happened to Minecraft on Console?
78This isn’t one of those “Old Minecraft was Better” videos, those are boring, what is a lot more interesting is breaking down what made the console edition of Minecraft so different and unique and getting replaced by Microsoft.
Yeah, bedrock replaced the console edition, that is to an extent a contributing factor to why people remember Minecraft being different, and in a lot of players’ opinions better. But Mojang didn’t even make the Minecraft console edition. 4J Studios ported Minecraft for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and 4 and there were some differences.
Also, I briefly mentioned in the video that mini-games and other services are still continued, it’s only that they don’t get updated. Console edition Minecraft is still very much a playable version for people who want to experience it.
