There never was a man in Naruto as vile as Madara. Well, I suppose maybe some exceptions can apply. Especially considering Madara was an idealist who saw evil as… well… a necessary evil. But the point remains that Madara was always quick to use people, betray them, kill them, destroy villages, families, lives, all for the sake of the reality he wished to create. In that way, when Obito took the alias “Madara”, he made a good Madara because their two personalities matched up perfectly. In the end, Madara simply wanted to see a world filled with joy, happiness, and peace. We know this much. Madara is just a broken man doing what broken men do: break other people. In his heart he probably truly felt as if he were a hero, or at least a villain with a purpose. And that purpose was to bring about peace by any means necessary. And it seems that his goals have not yet changed. Having received his second chance, he is ready to try again, this time cutting out the things that are going to eventually try to destroy him.
