I’m a sucker for a tragic hero. A hero who had nothing and gains everything. A hero who knows what it feels like to hurt. I’ve always had a bit of a saying. “The heart that is covered in scars is the one that knows how to love the best”. I know, cheesy, am I right? But in all honesty, it’s the truth. Pain has two paths, and that’s what Naruto consistently shows us. You can use your pain as an excuse to become bitter, lose hope, and betray who you truly are. Or you can use pain to teach you, to show you a side of reality you never knew. When we realize we’re not the only ones in pain, our heart opens to the possibilities. That’s why trained individuals always say “Never say ‘I understand’ to a grieving person unless you do”. I think they say that anyway. It’s what I’VE been told. But returning to topic, pain hurts. Nobody likes it. But sometimes a good question to ask is “Why am I in pain?” Not in a self-pitying way, but as a general question. There are possibilities. Perhaps you’re being taught something, shown something, or perhaps your pain isn’t only for you. Maybe someone is watching who doesn’t understand. Society is a massive reflecting pool, and sometimes even the tiniest ripple can become a wave. You DO make a difference, even if you don’t notice it at first. Even if you NEVER notice it. These are the things that Sasuke in this story is learning. The question is, what will Sasuke do with this pain? Will he use it to build up others? Or will he use his pain to bring the whole world down? Only time will tell. Sit right back and get ready for another tale of suspense and intrigue. Let’s begin. But first,
