232In Sam Raimi's 2002 classic Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker makes a declaration of promise. And it's not too long after that that we get to see the "What If" version of the world where Peter forgot that promise, and we don't even need the MCU's Uatu the Watcher to do it. Spider-Man 3 is, in its own way, the What If before the Marvel Cinematic Universe got around to doing it!
