Prior to and during the Xbox One's world debut, rumors were circulating all over the Internet of the possibility of this (at the time) new console not allowing used games and placing certain restrictions on the operating system to users in terms of playing games how they want to. Although none of this was ever covered during the Xbox One world premiere, or the E3 2013 Microsoft press conference, we heard enough about it from higher-ups at Microsoft and determined that they indeed did plan for this console to have some type of 24-hour check-in style DRM. Microsoft ended up reversing this decision after seeing the Internet react negatively to it on a never before seen unprecedented level, but what if the Xbox One stayed the course and remained the all-in-one entertainment DRM laden device it was originally made out to be?
